Dear ACA Families,

We had a great turnout at the Back to School nights last week.  It is wonderful to have such dedicated parents and families.  This week parents new to the Primary and new to the Middle School should plan on attending the New Parent Orientations.  We plan both evenings: Back to School and New Parent Orientation, to help parents understand the program, allow them time to ask questions early, and to explore ways to support student learning.

This May students and parents in the 4-8th grade are invited to go on an incredible journey to the East coast.  The American History tour visits sites in Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington DC.  There will be another informational meeting about this tour on Thursday evening starting at 6:15 pm.  Please plan on attending if you missed the orientation last May and would like more information about this exciting tour.

This week it looks as if we will be getting some more heat.  And so, this is a good time to remind students to bring water bottles to school everyday and to drink lots of water on hot days. It is important to stay hydrated! Have a great week.

Cheers,

Mrs. Heller, Co-administrator

Malawi Project

Maribeth Leinke paid our school a visit again last Thursday as she prepared to head back to Malawi Africa. She heads the Malawi Montessori Project there and came and gave a presentation to our school at the end of last year. The Middle school students sent her with some gently used books and soccer balls they collected. Intermediate Students made books for the classrooms in Malawi, wrote Pen Pal letters to the students there, and sent 63 Pairs of New Flip Flops that the students decorated with California, USA! Our students showed the Lifeskill of Caring and are learning that "Small Things Make a WORLD of difference".

Carpool

Parents when dropping off or picking up your child, please always use the crosswalk.  Also when using the drive thru, make sure you pull all the way down to the end so we can get as many cars in at a time as possible.
